  • Condition:This is in very good overall condition however please judge condition for yourself from photos as condition descriptions on works such as these are very subjective. No returns will be honored for issues of condition.
  • Size: approx.9 in L, 8 in. H, 5 in. dia. (23 x 20 x 12.5 cm.)
  • Provenance: From the estate of Moshe Lazar, professor of Drama and Comparative Literature, UCLA; founder and Dean of School of Visual and Performing Arts, Tel Aviv University; Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Hunanities, U.S.C. with many honorary degrees and awards. He was a personal friend of Marc Chagall and Samuel Beckett and served as a translator for their literary works.   • Note: The exotic decoration on the air inlet suggests this vessel may have been used in fertility rites. The design of a rounded bottom which prevents the vessel from sitting straight upright may be a special feature related to its functions in a ritual.
