K.I.S.S. Solutions has developed Do-It-Yourself catalog software designed to display your gallery inventory in interactive web catalogs such as the indexed art and auction catalogs on this site. Dealers and/or auction houses can utilize this software to add a photo-illustrated, indexed, editable, interactive catalog to their existing sites or home pages which is designed to generate direct email responses to works of interest (direct leads).
Unlike most website applications which are complicated and time consuming to modify or update, using this system you only enter "new" information--one time. The robot program then takes over and does the rest--all the repetitious formating, inserting of standard text, links, and style changes.
This is accomplished through the use of simple forms that allow the catalog to be updated or modified almost instantly by the vendor /website owner directly with no more skill required than to fill out a label for a work of art. For example, to delete a "sold" item, you merely enter the item code and hit a submit button. To list an item you use the simple fill out form providing the unique descriptive aspects of the item, hit the submit button and the robot program puts the data into a indexed catalog.
All links, logos, standard lanquage, color schemes, wallpaper, and format rules are automaticly incorporated into the listings and indexes. Since the server program only uses current items, there are no dead links in the indexes. Photos are pasted in and set up as enlargeable thumbnails...all without your active intervention. Adopting our system is very low cost and your catalog can usually be operational almost immediately. You make the changes and additions any time you want, the robot program then takes over and completely reworks your site to incorporate the new and changed items. Not having to wait to get the attention of a busy webmaster means your catalogs are always current.

Our service is designed to supplement existing web sites typically linking a catalog to your home page. (If you don't currently have a home page, that need can easily and cheaply be addressed). Indexed, interactive photo illustrated catalogs allow clients to easily and quickly scan through your stock to find as little or as much detail as they may want about your inventory. Indexed means lists arranged by period or alphabetically by artist with links to detailed descriptions of each work allowing the potential client quick access to items of interest. Interactive means that the client can hit a button conveniently located at the description of individual items and immediately let you know of their interest with contact details. Every email you receive is automaticly logged for your use in electronic mail lists. In the case of auction catalogs, a registration and bid button is found at each lot description. Photo illustrated means that enlargeable thumbnails are posted wherever you want. More than one photo can be posted with descriptions in the case where individual views of set members or particular details need to be posted to clarify the description.
As this software was designed and implemented by art professionals, we are particularly sympathetic to the needs of clients and dealers in the area of fine art and antiques.
Data entry is acomplished either through converting existing files or a basic do-it-yourself description form.
Do-It-Yourself- Data Entry: The simplest and most direct method of posting a catalog is to use the easy entry posting system which submits the descriptive data direct to the catalog program. Our software then converts the individual entries into your own catalog. You can supply digital photos or we can scan standard slides or prints and convert them to digital files suitable for posting on the web as enlargeable thumbnails. A test system is available which you can use to try out the system. Just enter your examples of art or other inventory that you want to list and examine the resulting test catalog.

Convert Existing Files: Descriptions about your inventory can be converted from your existing computer records kept in almost any database or asci text file. Using this option, it is not necessary to reenter inventory descriptions saving much time and avoiding possible entry errors.
Options: Optional formats are available. To review and see examples of format options click here.
Links to our indexed-by-artist site (rareart.com) will be offered in the near future. This free referral service will be offered to interested and qualified galleries. This means that anyone looking at the www.rareart.com list of works under the artist name "Picasso", for example, may find a title that is in your inventory. Clicking on that title would take the visitor directly to your site and your description. Clients contact you direct. (We reserve to right to exclude some inventory or sources from the rareart.com listing depending on compatibility with the www.rareart.com site objectives and policies).
The entire operation of this service is done by e-links. On-site consultation is not necessary and the service can be implemented by any gallery worldwide. After initial consultations on configurations, everything can be handled either through the direct entry system or by submitting a useable file attached to an email or posted on our site using the FTP protocol. We advise you on every step necessary to complete your site catalog.
Costs: Free for a limited time. For a limited time, setup and configuration to our standard template with your letterhead and logo details will normally be at no charge. For a limited time you can try the catalog system for free (limited to 200 catalog items). A small commission on any works sold as the result of web contact is the only fee requirement . Auction catalogs are priced per auction.
Substantial configuration modifications, large catalogs and other custom software modifications may incur additional charges.
Simple to Set Up: What is Required:
1. Permission from you to link your existing home page to the catalog. We can work with your ISP provider to handle the required configurations.
2. Photo directory on your site to upload and store your photo files using a common free FTP protocol such as WSFTP (we can setup for you). Alternatively, we can scan and load photos (separate charge).
3. Site specific information such as color scheme, index scheme, descriptive text, name and address, graphics used as logo, "New" and "sold" posting format, etc.
In most cases, the entire configuration can be handled by email. After we finish your configuration, you just go to your permission protected listing form, enter descriptive information on your works and within a few hours see your catalog up and operational.
Dealers and auction houses wishing to utilize our services should contact us.
