oil on canvas. Note (April 9th). The painting appears to be much older than the frame possibly 18th C. The work may be a fragment as there is painted canvas top and two sides where wrapped and tacked to the stretcher bars. Bottom canvas wrapped area is unpainted., c. 1900, ,
