  • Sheet: 8 5/8 × 11 5/16 in. (21.9 × 28.7 cm)
  • Plate: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 in. (14 x 21.6 cm)
  • References: Recorded in the standard texts on the original lithographs of Whistler by Kennedy 41 only state; Glasgow 50 only state; Mansfield 40.
  • Provenance: Frederick Keppel & Co. N.Y, their original vintage label verso, inventory number D6451.
  • Framing: offered unframed
  • Note: Frederick Keppel established the first European style print gallery in America.Keppel came to America in 1864 and became a print dealer in 1868. He was a patron and promoter of the Etching Revival and etchers including Whistler, Zorn, Buhot and Pennell. He gave Félix-Hilaire Buhot his first one-man show in 1888, and about the same time started to buy and sell a large number of Whistler's prints. (source Wikipedia).
